This moment. . .
Right now, here-- it stuns me.
Standing at the tall kitchen bar editing a study guide for Church History, writing essay outlines, memorizing dates, finding myself struck all over again with the wonder of the development of men and cultures under the hand of an Almighty God.
A warm mug of coffee from Seattle with local raw milk and Sionna's honey from home.
Dark, stormy skies outside. Muggy as anything, and rain pending.
A mile walk to the post office earlier in the heat, praying, repenting, seeking His face for present grace.
A refreshing shower.
Branches, flowers, and suriname fruit scattered across my desk and the kitchen counter-- findings from the walk.
Roomies giggling--er, studying for finals.
Air conditioning.
A late night ahead and a stack of vocab cards to keep me company.
2 finals down, 3 to go. This morning's Pentateuch final felt like the best test I'd ever taken.
Bebo Norman and "The Way We Mend".
Hard things lie ahead in the near future, yet He guides and He will not forsake. Faithfulness like that shown to the people of Israel all through their history. His Word is weighty, trustworthy, true. The test comes, will we believe it or succumb to amnesia or apathy?
Yes, this moment is better, far better, than I deserve.
