A bus tour in Lima's Historic areas

The St. Francis of Assisi chapel built by Franciscans hundreds of years ago.  The catacombs under the monastery hold 25,000 people, and are the only ones in Peru open for public viewing.  Unfortunately no pictures were allowed, otherwise I would treat all you wonderful readers to sorted piles of various bones, narrow corridors lit by single lanterns, and crumbling brick walls.  The catacombs survived the 9.1 earthquake some years ago so it is said to be the safest place in the country.  It's also a convenient instant burial place.  Hmm...
